I'm leaving for my trip to Pittsburgh on Friday night. Although I want to visit my relatives, it gets harder and harder each year that I go to see them because their "situations" keep deteriorating and I really dislike witnessing the stark reality of it ( Read more... )

hey! i don't mind you adding me, i'll add you cuz you've got freaking AWESOME taste in music. :) wyep is the best. i volunteer there and its so fun, even though i just stuff envelopes. so you'll be in the 'burgh for awhile? you're going to see erin mckeown?? i noticed that you're younger, and the club she is playing at is 21+, so just make sure you have a parent with you (i'm under 21 too and its the biggest hassle)...wow i was just looking at your profile again, you really have rockin' music taste. congrats :) lol. if you like wilco, they'll be in town FOR FREE on saturday night. definitely do not miss that, if you're into them...

Hey there...Thanks for the heads up on Erin McKeown. I've been to the Rosebud a couple of times with my parents and always end up feeling horribly out of place. We were *so* out of place at a Melissa Ferrick show that we actually got to go back stage and talk to everyone. LoL.

I'm into Wilco, they're pretty cool. I'm kind of debating between that show and the Sarah Harmer / Lisa Germano show at Club Cafe though...

Anyway, maybe I'll catch you on IM sometime. Have a nice night!

hey, just to give another heads up, the sarah harmer/lisa germano show is ALSO 21+ only. yeah, pittsburgh blows super hard. my mom and i are definitely going to wilco, because we both like them, and its FREE...and then maybe trying to go over to the sh/lg show afterwards. most likely we'll end up missing sh/lg...but ARGH its a horrible horrible choice to make. grrr.

I know that the whole 21+ thing in Pittsburgh kinda sucks, but in Indiana (where I live) I'm not allowed in to 21+ shows even if I have a parent with me. The same goes for Chicago shows most of the time as well. Indiana has the strangest bar laws though. For instance, if there's a bar in a restaurant, people under 21 aren't allowed to enter the restaurant if there isn't a wall separating the two. Go figure.
