I received a nudge from a very pretty lady telling me I should start showing my work again (thank you very much), so here I am. Before I go into the story, a heads up- tomorrow I have another shoot with Melissa and we are going to be silly with the outfits- camouflage pants, with blue suspenders, and a bow tie...should be a fun time. The next day a ( Read more... )

When? this really is the issue. It is starting to get cold in MI. Soon, I will be doing studio sessions and that is much slower going than working outside. If you haven't worked with me before, it will be much harder to establish a good model photographer rapport during a studio session- read results usually not as good for studio sessions with models I have not worked with outside before. Basically, when?

I have to agree, the expressive eyes really have it. Jeremiah's face shot is a stunner! And are you really allergic to the sun?

Thanks glad you like the second shot. Yep, I really am allergic to the sun. It is extremely rare but I won the lottery I guess. Some people have heat rashes, heat bumps, etc. What I have is the whole other end of it, an allergy to most wavelengths of light all the way down into the infrared; I once had a reaction to sitting in front of a fireplace! heheheheh...It's called Polymorpheus(spelling) Light Eruption- P.L.E. for short. I thank god I am Black, if I was White I would have no resistance at all.

Yep, I really love this hobby, because no way would I put myself out in the sun for two hours or so save for a shoot. hehehehe... But again, thank you very much for the nudge.

But amongst the circle of friends, people I admire and respect (not every model I work with fits into these categories), I would at least hope that their immediate response to a shot where I was going for it is shock. That shock you feel when you see beauty/ difference from your regular line of thought. I would like that immediate gut response we have no name for to pass thru them. I think Kant called it sublime or some such vague term for an emotion we can't really define or tie down but know is or response to an intriguing beauty. I think in Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance it would be called quality ( ... )
