The keeton remains cute. I'm not convinced her name is Gretl, but E and our 3-year old niece are, so I guess it will grow on me. She seems to have a cold! Poor baby. Sneezing is the main symptom. We are thinking of getting another cat (damn you, Steve!). Saskia has been kind of needy lately and I think she is lonely. Plus, I read that there was a crazy huge batch of stray kitties this year that need homes. They are pulling my wee heartstrings. KITTIES.

It is seriously dumb luck when your Powerbook hard drive and iPod hard drive both die within a week of one another. Especially when both are out of warranty. Not that that is happening to me, or anything. My cell phone (16 months old) also keeps freaking out and shutting off spontaneously ( Read more... )

Just checking in-- I was nowhere near the collapsed bridge. So far have not heard of anyone I know who was involved in the incident. It is pretty surreal, though. They are still out searching in boats and I have no idea how they can do much of anything while it is dark out.

The yearly garden bug finally hit me, and just in time since we are just about at the average frost-free date for this region. Over the weekend we planted 3 new viburnum shrubs to replace the two (of four) that died last summer due transplant shock. So, at work we are doing this silly wellness challenge called "Climbing Mount Everest". We each count how many stairs we climb or descent each day and these stairs are tallied by teams.
