The slug infestation was bothersome...

But the explosion within the Underground has been positively devastating ( Read more... )

Dude, a girl got bitten by the slugs? If you could, tell me about the symptoms? I'm kinda well versed in parasites and stuff, so if I could help at all...?

Said 'girl' is Mrs. Hammond, if you please, sir.

Her symptoms are typical of many bacterial infections.

Flu-like; high grade fever, fatigue, nausea, etc.
To be frank, I believe the little pests possess toxin in thier bites, for the area bitten is rather inflamed, and clearish fluid is supporating from the actual punctures.

She is alarmingly tired, and I fear for her....

Ah, excuse the curtness of my response, but you may call me V.

To whom am I speaking?

Sure, man. Mrs. Hammond it is.

Yeah, that's bacteria for you. I'd say the symptoms are for slowing down prey in an actual situation, so you might wanna watch out whatever bit her doesn't come back with friends or anything. I'd say to put alcohol and something acerbic on the wound, and wash is often, cause the slug might of had a parasite or god knows what else on the teeth. Also, rap it in something, but change the rappings often, 'cause you don't want anything to fester or get infected. 'Course, you might know that already, but whatever...

Sorry, I majored in biology back in school, and the agency I worked for more less specialized in parasites, so today is like a feild test for me. I wish I knew more exactly about what these things are, but I've spend most of the day hacking them to little bits than actually researching, that's what I'll be doing tonight, so if I get any better results, I'll get back to you.

Curtness nothing, man, you're stressed.

Nice to meet'cha V, I'm Cal Thompson.

A pleasure, Mr. Thompson.

I had only gotten so far as salting for the vermin, and cleaning Evey's wound before the blast struck.

We are now trapped within my subterranean greenhouse, with little a flashlight, the 'laptop' ( for which I had to carefully excavate to uncover), and a liter of clean water.

I thank you for the advise, and would be heartily grateful for any more data you compile regarding these creatures, thank you.

Under better circumstances, I would very much like to speak at further length with you about bio-chemistry, and possibly the biology of many of the beings within the city?

V? V, are you okay? God... I heard the explosion... And Evey...

Ruth and I will be there straight away to help clear the station.

Valerie!

Thank Goodness...

I was intending to go searching for you during this 'invasion', but Evey became ill...

She has asked after your safety, and Miss Ruth's as well.
Are you both alright?
Have either of you been affected by the parasites?

No, we're both fine. They don't seem the like the roses at all, and any that did get in we managed to exterminate.

How is Evey doing? Is she concious?

I am...concerned.

She is touch-and-go at present, and I worry for her the longer we are caught here without adequate medical supplies.
Nor is it certain how much air we have within this pocket of debris

If at all possible I shall see that she is extracted first, and foremost.
I have sustained very minor injuries that can wait a good deal longer than hers.

Valerie, have you heard any word from those within the circus?
They must now be caught within the underworld as well, considering the train has not only been derailed, but the tunnels sealed off as well.

Although I cannot be of assitance, I will discover the perpetrator of this event and bring him to justice.

Explosives may not serve your purpose, but I can presicely cut through the obstruction to help you out.

Madam, the problem is not clearing the debris away, it is doing so without causing further collapse elsewhere.

The tunnels are structurally unsound, at present, and further collapse could crush us, or others who are injured, and similarly trapped.

Well if there is any way I can help let me know.

Have you thought to ask the alchemists? They seem to be able to alter their environments, perhaps they could create an escape and fix the tunnels.

If you still are in need of assistance, I can offer my own in any way that I can. Be it in slug control or debris removal.

There are others aside from myself, and Evey, who's homes have now been devastated by the blast.

I have not heard word from those who must now be trapped within the Underworld, since the train has been not only derailed, but the tunnels essentially sealed.

If you feel so inclined to lend a hand to digging out the track, your assistance would be much appreciated, madam.

You may also call me, V.

So someone needs to check on the status of the others who live Underground, and the tunnels need to be cleared.

I will do all I can with the tracks, but do you have any names of the people who you are aware of that live below as well? I can keep a lookout and see if I come across any.

Those within Circus Carnivore, I believe;

The Hatter, Belial, and Miss Kurai I know for certain are in residence, but I can not say whom all is accounted for amongst thier 'troupe' as it were.

I do not know if they have found thier own means of escape, for I have heard no word, but assrances of thier safety would be comforting for thier kin, I believe.
