Stuck in an "I'm a bad writer" funk

Apr 06, 2008 20:00

I am feeling the angst that can only come after one has written something for challenge, posted it, realized that it sucks, and then read a really good fic written by somebody else for the same prompt.

Woe is me.

I'm going to post it here, not because I particularly want others to read it, but because, well, if anyone is interested in giving advice, it would not be unappreciated. I feel like it's much too short, but I can't find a good place to expand it.

Title: Simple Pleasures
Fandom: YnM
Pairing: Tsuzuki/Byakko

“So, everyone thought that Watari had spiked the coffee, but it was really the water cooler, so now Tatsumi and Yuma are bald, and last I saw, they were trying to kill Watari.” Tsuzuki paused to take a bite of a bright red apple, savoring the sweetness.

“And you took advantage of the confusion to come to Gensoukai,” Byakko finished for him. He grinned. “Very sneaky.”

Tsuzuki nodded cheerfully. “I'm a genius.” He lay back in the grass. “I'd much rather be here with you and the others than in that stuffy old office.”

“We're much better company than anyone there,” Byakko agreed. He popped a piece of takoyaki into his mouth, then laid his head on Tsuzuki's chest.

“Hey, I can't reach the food,” Tsuzuki said with a pout.

Byakko laughed. “It's not going anywhere.” He snuggled closer to Tsuzuki. “Besides, you're comfy.”

Tsuzuki rested his hand on Byako's back. “Well, all right.” He gave small, contented sigh.

They laid like that for a while, simply pleased to be under the bright sun and the warm grass. Finally, Byakko lifted his head and pressed his lips against Tsuzuki's. Tsuzuki let out a slight moan, and he wrapped his arms around Byakko. Byakko smiled against the kiss, and deftly undid Tsuzuki's pants and slipped his hand inside. Tsuzuki whimpered.

“It's been a long time for, hasn't it,” Byakko said softly. Tsuzuki nodded silently. “Poor Tsuzuki.” Byakko shook his head. “You could have come to any one of us. We all love so much.” Tsuzuki responded by hugging Byakko tighter. Byakko nuzzled Tsuzuki's neck and began to slide his hand up and down Tsuzuki's cock. Tsuzuki tossed his head and gasped.

“More,” Tsuzuki begged. “Please, more.”

“No problem,” Byakko assured, before kissing Tsuzuki deeply. He slid his unoccupied hand up Tsuzuki's shirt and caressed his chest. He loved touching Tsuzuki, tasting him, just being with him. He swiftly ran his hand along Tsuzuki's cock a few more times. Tsuzuki's hips jerked, and he came with a loud cry.

For a few moments, neither of them moved, both feeling relaxed and satisfied. Then, Tsuzuki stood up. “I need to change my pants,” he said with a slight frown.

Byakko rose, chuckling. “We'll get you a change of clothes when we get back to Tenkuu.”

“After we're done eating,” Tsuzuki said firmly.

Byakko laughed again and nodded. “It would be a terrible shame to waste all of this food.” He sat down and bit into a rice ball. Tsuzuki followed suit. In between bites, he chattered about the cookies Wakaba had made, the way she had saved a few extras for him, and how mad Terazuma had been when he found out.

Byakko smiled softly and leaned back. The sun was warm, the grass was soft, and Tsuzuki was happy. If perfect days existed, then this was one of them. And everything was twice as good, because he had the perfect person to share it with.
