So, uh, yeah.

Remember when I made the post about the dvd_commentary community, and how I'd never ever actually post a commentary because I'd most likely be horribly wrong, and then I'd have to commit ritual suicide? Well, uh, I lied. Not about being wrong! That's still true. But about not posting a commentary. (I was probably lying about the suicide bit. Probably.)

So, you can find my commentary for ravenbell's story Better the Devil You Know here for part one and here for part two. Remember, I'm probably wrong about everything, and most likely terribly stupid as well. I'm just warning you.

But wait! There's more! See, I've had a FST for the story in my head for awhile, and this gave me the perfect excuse to post it. It's only six songs, more of a mini-FST than anything else, and certainly not behemoth that my 30 Tortures FST was, but, well, it is what it is.

There isn't a title. There's no point. The Thirty Tortures FST had a title, but I just think of it as the Thirty Tortures FST.

Lullaby- A Perfect Circle

This first song starts off with a menacing voice ordering us to go back to sleep, followed by eerie instrumentals and wordless vocals. It's an appropriately creepy way to begin.

Into the Dark- Melissa Etheridge

There were stairs they were steep
I was falling falling deep
You were there you were small
There was screaming down the hall

Is that accurate or what? This song captures the feel of the beginning of the dream, and alternates between Muraki's and Hisoka's viewpoints.

Suicidal Dream- Silverchair

My suicidal dream,
Voices telling me what to do.
My suicidal dream,
I'm sure you will get your's too.

Muraki's newfound power is bad for your mind. It can drive you insane or make you sleep forever. And through it all, he's changing the very core of who you are.

Trust in Me- Siouxsie and the Banshees

Trust in me, just in me
Shut your eyes and trust in me

Slip into silent slumber
Sail on a silver mist
Slowly and surely your senses
Will cease to resist

Muraki presents himself as Hisoka's savior. He wants Hisoka to trust him, for possibly more than one reason.

House of Cards- Mary Chapin Carpenter

I grew up in a house like this
You knew the groan of every stair
All the walls seemed to listen in
All the years seemed to take up air
And when you dreamed it was of the wind blowing cold and hard
And in those dreams you thought you lived in a house of cards

I'm a bit nervous about including this song. On the one hand, it's just about perfect. One the other hand, it doesn't fit with the other songs sound-wise. It has a folk/country feel, and has a much faster tempo. But it's the song for the Kurosaki family, so I couldn't not include it.

Control- Poe

While you were looking the other way
While you had your eyes closed
While you were licking your lips
cause I was miserable
While you were selling your soul
While you were tearing a hole in me

I was taking control

Hisoka kicks ass, man. He is cooler than you. This is the song that started this FST. I was reading, and thought, “Wow, Control would be the perfect song to go with this." And then I kept finding more.

Oh, and here's the zip with the songs, my commentary, and the lyrics.

So, there's my little mini-FST. Hope you like it.

...You know, I was supposed to spend this weekend studying.
