Kuroshitsuji 127

I read this one nearly a week ago, and I may never recover.

And I don't mean, "I may never recover" in a happy fun way. Agni is dead! I am honestly not sure I can keep reading.

And I know that these days any plot point a fan doesn't like is proof that the story is objectively wrong, and the creator is evil, so let me make it clear that that's not what I mean. I think Yana has the right to tell whatever story she wants. This is about me and what my heart can take. Because one of my very favorite characters just died, and I'm not sure I want to be reminded of that every time I read.

It's not just that Agni died; it's that Soma survived. I honestly think it would have been less cruel for Yana to have killed them off together. Soma/Agni has always given similar feelings as Cain/Riff, and it's not just because of the butler/master thing. But now Soma has lost the person he loved and trusted most in the world, and who does he have to deal with in the aftermath? Ciel and Sebastian, masters of sympathy. I swear to god, if I do keep reading, and Sebastian is an asshole to Soma over this, I will lose what is left of my mind.

What makes it personally cruelly ironic, is not only have I been desperately wanting more Agni (we've been getting a bit more Soma, but not much Agni), but I've always regretted that Agni hadn't had a chance to show if his super impressive fighting skills since the curry arc. Well, be careful what you wish for.

So, yeah. I am broken little sad bird, and one of my most reliable favorite series may simply not be an option anymore.
