Disclaimer: (This post is due to the fact that my sis, Captain Corlis, pointed out that I need to do some long overdue bragging. In my following message, you will be subjected to a flashy proud display of ego that may or may not interest you. I must emphasize, however, that right now everything about me and my life is flooring and fascinating. ( Read more... )

Your story is one of the great American hero stories: From an Econoline to ...um...an apartment, to .... you're selling your artwork! I mean, it's in galleries now too! What the hey, you might as well brag a little.

Frankly I'm disappointed in your treatment of "the little people" during catered events. It's time you learned they're on the lower echelon. A good way for you to practice humility (not yours, of course) is instead of helping caterers clean up, you need to drop things in front of them. After a few times, it will start to feel more natural, and you'll fit in with the rest of the well-to-do. ACCEPT YOUR PLACE! Mwahahahahha.

Okay, seriously, I'm quite happy for you. It's a relief to finally see others appreciating your unique artistic talents. Keep it up!

Hee hee.

But I miss the van life...sigh.

If you haven't noticed, this post is rather the anti-lj thing to do. I suppose that's why only you responded. Mainly, I think people use lj as a sounding board for their problems. Kind of like therapy without context. Not everyone, but many.

I'm doing a piece of artwork about the gecko that's been eating the wasp babies. I have it in my work nose to nose with the nest, just like it always is. I will miss it when it dies. It has become sort of a pet. I wonder if its spawn will be as clever. It really has a good thing going just sitting up there. I should name it. What's a good genderless gecko name for a fat little critter with a double chin?

Besides that, nothing is really new. Work was slippery today. How many people can say that about their jobs? It's not like people walk into the office, warn one another of the slick spots and then land right on their asses! Heh, Funny thought though. "Don't step there Bob..." *Wham*

I don't know, I just think people aren't aware of you. I have like, maybe 6 people on my friend list, and talk to maybe 3. lol, I'm pretty much as social (or anti) on LJ as I am in real life without prodding. And frankly, I think it's just the same deal with you. But, it IS refreshing not to see a weepy diary entry about the meaning of life and the mis-shappen mole on someone's back, ech.

Very very very cool!
I totally understand the shy thing! But it will get easier!
Before you know you have to be at a social event, prepare in your head some stories [things that you have gone to or happened to you or observed, etc], and other things to talk about... weather, movies, food, etc.
That's what I do and it helps.
Congratulations!

I think maybe I should just say whatever is on my mind. When I do this, I become an extrovert, but I plow through life, and I really don't want to run anyone over in the process. Last night, I was at a party when this aspect of my personality kicked in. Once it starts, it doesn't stop. The worst part is that my black humor rears it's head and... I am not really ashamed at all. I had fun. And this morning, it didn't stop with my tour guests. When they groaned about the waiver they have to sign, I told them they were signing their souls over to me, and their first born as well. And I gave them the hairy eyeball when I said this too ( ... )
