"We will make umlauts with shallots and...justice."
I love Gus, and his freak-out over actually having gotten into the genius school, and then his parents secretly thwarting him. I also love Shawn and his father. This week's case was actually pretty coherent and interesting, which I was really happy about. And I didn't already have it figured out in the first five minutes. I was a bit worried at first, because the last few cases were muddled and seemed more like a token background to the Shawn and Gus comedy show, which, while very amusing, was not enough to carry the entire episode. Don't get me wrong, I love the two of them, but I also like to see them actually doing something within a narrative that makes sense. So I was glad to see a case that had a cool twist.
One thing I did not love about this episode: The gay joke. This is the second time that the show has made a gay joke that was incredibly unfunny, and therefore simply based on the premise that gay = something to laugh at. Neither of the jokes was particularly offensive, but they were lazy and not at all humorous. I really thought Psych would be above that kind of thing. I was really bothered by it, so I hope they don't continue to do that.
