You guys, is Dollhouse seriously being cancelled? That's the scuttlebutt, but I haven't gotten around to finding any articles that detail how likely the cancellation is.
I just watched ep. 9 last night, and IT WAS AWESOME. I am officially loving this show, and am going to be very disappointed if it's gone.
I love Topher! I really didn't like him at first, but he has burrowed into my heart.
They could make cheerleaders - who shoot people! ...Or assassins who cheer.
I love how he made the "assassins who cheer" possibility sound so much more sinister than the rampaging cheerleaders. That's classic Joss humor, and oh how I have missed it. I actually rewound that scene like three times, because it cracked me up so much.
And Boyd! I just love Boyd so much I can't even deal. I want him to be my Watcher-Handler-Whatever.
Adele's storyline was a shock to me, and I loved it. When Dominic tells her that she's perfect for her job, and she says, "That's what they tell me," does everyone think that's a hint that she's a Doll? I hope she's not. Because the Dolls have no motivations or drive of their own. What's interesting about them from a motivation perspective is their original decision to sign up for the Dollhouse - what drove them to do that? But day-to-day, their motivations are not their own, are imprinted (with the obvious exception of Echo who is having her own motivations).
With Adele, her character is interesting because I want to know why she works for the Dollhouse. Her continuing motivations as director of the L.A. House are interesting to me, and that all goes away if she's a Doll and it's an imprint.
Lastly, I have to run to a meeting, but Ballard pulling Mellie and her suitcases into his apartment with gun drawn and stubble on his face was CLASSIC MULDER. I had a total XF flashback, you guys. I miss Mulder. And oh Mellie and Ballard. The heartbreak there. I can't even get into it now.
Anyone else have thoughts? Is the show definitely getting cancelled?
