its funny when you rebirth yourself, just how irritating and cringeworthy things that used to bolster your ego become... things that used to be part of my identity are now making want to recoil and hide... pretend i was never like that ( Read more... )

*shrug*

whatever you've been or done in the past has made you the person you are now.

you're pretty happy with that person, aren't you?

then forget about it...

I agree...

when I look back at old photos and the people I used to be I cringe too.. and know if I met myself then, now I might have a few things to say about that person.. I try and think of them fondly though, and yes they are the person who make the choice to do the things that make you who you are now..

the more interesting thing is that you can extrapolate from that that the person you are now will be cringed at by some future you..

don't disown who you were..

I guess this topic is close to my heart at the moment as at the moment as today and the next month I am swimming thru myriad old versions of me that I discarded and ran off from. to touch base with them and reconnect, closing the circle is deeply satisfying in a way I cant explain.

A spiritual teacher of mine told me a story about Rama Krishna. She said that he was walking out thru the woods one day and heard a frog croaking in pain, he walked over and saw that a snake was trying to swallow the frog, but that it was having a hard time. The snake slowly swallowed the frog, but before it was done Rama Krishna counted the frogs croaks, which numbered 3.

He knew that the frog was passing thru so that it could be reborn and continue its path, so there was no sadness. He did however see that it took 3 croaks for the frog to pass on.

Question I have had to ask myself, and perhaps you are asking yourself also in a way, is how many more croaks do you have till you can pass on also?

I wish you the best in your path.. you are an amazing woman and I have throughly loved watching your journey.

Namaste.
