Okay. So, most of you already know but I thought I'd announce it for posterity. When my lease runs out in April I'm going to Korea to teach for a year. I had been thinking about it for a few months but kinda put it in the back of my mind since I became so comfortable in New York. My job situation is getting better and I'm really liking it. It's easier than you think! Just walk in, dangle your resignation letter in your boss's face and see how quickly they start throwing options at you. Although I'm sure it came across as me trying to make a point by literally shoving it in his face, I only did it because I freaked at the last minute, couldn't think of anything to say, and forced myself to make sure he saw what it was so I couldn't take it back!

There's really nothing to it, so I've come to learn. I would suggest telling them as soon as possible (once you are 100% with it) in order to train someone to take over for you. Easiest way to ensure returning to the job as a Plan B. Plan B is always good to have.

Yay for Korea! I might go. I still need to send Cessilia an email.

So when you're done with Korea...maybe I'll come romp around NYC with you :)If I kill myself at school I could be done with at least a two year degree and maybe finish up somewhere out there...it's wishful thinking nonetheless.

wow val that sounds great. though i really dont understand the move if youre so happy in NY. But good luck...!
Myself, I am seriously considering the JET program (basically the same thing as the Korea deal, except you go to Japan). Of course I have to get my BA first, but Im working on that.
