June to December 2016 Report

Jan 07, 2017 22:32

These started out as monthly reports, right? Oops. Let's see how I'll do this year.

Fanfic

I wrote 108202 words in June through December:

Outsiders/Pathfinders (WIP) R?. This is the second group of adventurers I created. They've switched their name from Outsiders to Pathfinders, though frankly it doesn't come up as often as for Moressath. I've leveled them up to level 8. Bren and Mer have had their first kiss. They've encountered the same story arc and main villain as Moressath and once they're also at level 10 they can take on that fight. (Though frankly with 13 level 10 characters even an archmage and a nalfeshnee will not be much of a challenge unless they are lucky and go early and can flee.) I've added a seventh member to this group, Esha, a goblin ranger/rogue.

Out of Phase PG. John/Rodney. 7659 words. Rodney finds a device that turns him out of phase. While the others try to find out what happened to Rodney, John gets Jeannie to Atlantis. Rodney listens to a revealing talk they have... (For McSheplets prompt "Invisible")

Days like these R. Contemporary AU. John/Rodney. 9706 words. Rodney is a workaholic and ordered to go on vacation. Caught in torrential rain, he seeks shelter in a home and meets John. (For McSheplets prompt "Storm")

Brave 435 words. This was frankly more of a diary entry in fic-like form. (I don't keep a diary.)

Pleasantly Buzzed PG-13. John/Rodney. 2043 words. Rodney is slightly drunk and talks about the perfect person for John that he sometimes tries to imagine.

Art

I've created art for SGA Reverse Bang again, which hasn't been posted yet. It's McShep.

On the AO3 posting front, I'm at January 2009. I'm at 346 (up from 333) works now, which means I've added 13 fics since the last report. In addition to fics that I'd already posted before, I posted Weird, Heart over Head, Dog Tags, and Reading Glasses.

I've managed to write every day in 2016 even if it was only an alibi sentence of three words. My total for the year was 403165, which sounds and is a lot, but recording the D&D adventures is an easy but not as satisfying way to get words out, so my plan for 2017 is to write more normal stories and also to post some of the growing backlog.
