Boston ladies, it looks like we might not get the new nightly Jay Leno show on Channel 7. Instead, they'll add another hour of news at 10pm (with no Randy Price, however, which is clearly bullshit) locally, because they think they'll get better ratings with it ( Read more... )

I haven't watched CSI since Grissom left, but they are all trapped on my dvr. Maybe a marathon is coming soon. As far as the house thing, I need to prepare you for the most horrifying part. The paperwork. Dear god, you sit at a table with the seller and lawyers and title people and papers fly across the table - sign this initial that. At one point the lawyer made some crack about not worrying because it was only a 30 year mortgage. I abruptly stopped all of the papers flying across the table and told him if he said one more word that was not directly related to where I should put my name I was gone. Everyone freaked and stared at me like it was my third head doing the talking. Ugh. But knowing that if you want to paint your walls with pink and purple polka dots? That is priceless.

Oh man, I am now tempted to do the same. All the little things are truly maddening. Worth it, of course, and I feel so blessed, but the paperwork and just BULLSHIT are amazing and all the little numbers start to make my head hurt after a while.

The funny thing is by the time you fill out all of the paperwork at the closing, there is nothing you can do about anything. The best thing to do is get a nice pen (like I am really going to sign my life away with a bic), wear some comfy clothes and sing the Muppet Show theme song in your head. And then it is your house. If you want to take a nap while your towels are in the dryer, you can (I had a load full of new towels yoinked once - that was low). Just don't let them talk you into anything. If your bullshit alarm goes off LISTEN. I got approved for $250,000. wtf? Lil ol me does not need a 250,000 house (here in Indiana, that is BIG). Good luck though...you will know when it is right.
