Spock's World is awesome. Diane Duane still remains my favorite Trek author, hands down. You'll probably love The Wounded Sky and My Enemy, My Ally if you haven't already had a chance to check those out. :D
I have read Spock's World several times, but not in many years. Although, luckily, I did bring it when I moved a zillion years ago. I am reading Uhura's Song right now. The movie got me in the mood. I hope you enjoy the book.
This is like my 4th or 5th reread of Uhura's Song. I have loved it for years, but I didn't think I brought it with my when I moved from MA. Although it is a bit of a different read at my current age. You are more than welcome to borrow it when I finish, which won't be that long.
may sir neckbeard rip. at least the hat is still there?
how is spock's world? i'm familiar with that and a number of the related st novels, but i could never bring myself to read them. i'm afraid that may push me over from possible-trekkie-in-denial into solid trekkie ;o)
I really like it, it has an artistry when it comes to the prose I didn't expect from Trek novels (going in blind, as it were.) I'm sure some are better than others, but it's well done and has a lot of rather beautiful Vulcan culture (etc.) so it fills in a lot of gaps.

But the caterpillar has gone now, and the babyclean face makes me want to do him SO MUCH MORE THAN THE PORNSTACHE.
