Mayumi. . . I've seen a lot of people like her, in my days in the courtroom. They're the timid types, the type who would freak out the very moment the defense yells "Objection!" They may even pass out in the courtroom from all the badgering. Basically, they show themselves to be extremely weak and fragile, so that the court's sympathy may be upon them.
But from there, it goes both ways. What we see may not be an act at all, and that is her true self. On the other hand, it may all just be a ruse. She could have another side to herself, one that's conniving and might just be like the devil. Of course, we may only find out after much badgering.
