it's the next part of the verse that is usually not quoted, however. the part about the husband respecting and protecting the wife. imho, it takes both in a D/s relationship.
I agree wholeheartedly. Without Xergh's respect and commitment to me I would never be able to submit to him. I was just venting a bit because I'm frustrated by criticism coming from the religious majority in my part of the country.

Colossians 3:19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
Ephesians 3:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26: That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27: That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing: but that it should be holy and without blemish. 28: So ought men to love thier wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. 29: For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: . . . 33: let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
My interpretation. A husband should love and care for his wife as Christ did. Christ died to fulfill his promises to the church. So should husbands if need be. It is my duty to be willing to do what is right for veLorwen in all of my life. An example is if she deems some part of our D/

my Sir also insists that i be open and honest with him so that we can protect the marriage. to have a destructive relationship -- with or without D/s -- doesn't benefit any person. in our committment ceremony he promised to keep me from harm, emotionally and physically. not keep me from hurt, mind you, but definitely from harm. *smile*
