Out of Hiding to Tell about Thinking

Oct 19, 2008 00:19

Well, thought I'd be back faster from my  hiatus.  Life has been sucking lately, but at last we're moving, and once that's done, I think I'll be less stressed and in a better mood.

I'll certainly be alone more; we've been living in my parents for several years, and now Jeff's off to school too.

I'll be happy when it's done and everything comes ( Read more... )

Hi, stranger. I must admit I didn't think of you going to see ...thinking. Glad you went and enjoyed it. Randy looks might fine in those pics.

What's this about moving?

You might be interested in this community, qaf_nyc_july09. There's going to be a big get-together of LJers in July next year. I hope to get there but have no concrete plans at this stage.

I am on the mailing list, and when I saw it was a date I could make, I hurried up and bought tickets. As it turned out, it sold out, the place was pretty small. I actually really enjoyed the genre; I don't like going to movies much, for some reason, but watching four little shows in that amount of time was really fun; I was left wanting more in each time. The first one really stabbed me; it was about a young boy coming to terms with being gay--it reminded me so much of Jeff at that age, with kids making comments, I had to keep reminding myself that this was in the past. Although seeing how it ended made me glad that it was better for him ( ... )

When exactly are you moving? I hope everything goes smoothly. I totally understand the go-between thing between your mother and Jeff. The same thing happened when my grandmother moved in with us when I was 10. She never said anything directly to my dad or us kids, but everything came through mum. It was very stressful on the whole family, because it skewed the family relationships somewhat. I imagine Jeff wants to get on with life without your mother interfering all the time.

I certainly intend to get to NYC - just need to find the money for the flights. Thanks for your kind offer to stay. I'll probably stay with the friend in White Plains again, but I'd love to come and visit you. The date for the picnic weekend has been set: 25-26 July. Hope this doesn't interfere with your holiday plans. If you have any questions, let me know. I'll definitely email you when I know my travel plans.

I've been wondering what you've been up to. Sounds like things have been a little bit busy. What prompted the move? I know how stressful moving can be so I hope everything goes smoothly for you.

Thank you for posting about ...thinking! I've wondered what it was like and since it's highly unlikely that I'll get to see it down here I'm relying on reports. I love that part about you seeing your name up on the screen. I imagine that must have been quite surreal.

So anyway, to cut this long story, I had the sudden idea to look at these apartments that are near where we used to live. An apartment would mean that we could move without any major angst, should we want to, and there were a few things that I wanted, that this particular apartment complex had: a pool, a pets allowed policy, one thing that I can't remember at the moment, and most importantly, very very convenient for transportation. Living around here, besides the issue of taking the train or bus, there is the issue of parking your car at a nearby lot, all of which are too crowded. This apartment complex, although very residential looking and having trees all over the place, is literally, behind the last bus stop before the bus gets on the turnpike into NY. To say that you can walk to the bus is an understatement, it's practically at the door. I can't even yet comprehend how wonderful that aspect is, because for the past six years, Eugene and I have had to arrange schedules around his getting back and forth to the bus. If I was ( ... )

Hi Kathy,

I'm friends with wildsweet_angel. Weren't you and your husband sitting behind us? If this is you, I know I shook your hand. :)

It was an all around good night and I'm glad I went too.

BTW, I heard your husband. *giggle*

Later,
~I

I'm so glad you saw my message. I did shake hands with you, but since I got there so close to the opening, and it's hard to hear in those places, I hadn't gotten your name clearly, and as it turned out, by the time I hit the street, you two were gone ( ... )
