5-prompts Soldier is an idiot.
That was something Medic knew right from the moment they were introduced to each other. He was all brawn, no brains, and an absolute nutcase to top it all off. Medic knew. He really did. But he never did realise to what extent of an idiot Soldier could be.
And right now, as he performed CPR on Soldier, he couldn't help but be angry. So much so that his eyes were starting to water. He stopped for a moment to stabilise his breathing and wipe the tears off his cheeks before resuming the emergency rescue.
One, two, one, two, one, two--...
Soldier hasn't moved, hasn't breathed. Medic started to laugh.
An idiot, that's what he is. Always foolishly rushing headfirst into everything without a second thought.
One, two, one, two, one, two--...
Soldier's heart had stopped five minutes ago - possibly longer. But Medic continued to pump, despite knowing deep down that his efforts were futile. He didn't want to be indebted to anyone, let alone an idiot. He was angry. So very angry at Soldier for lying to him, for telling him he will be right back even when he knew he wasn't.
One, two, one, two, one, two--...
He was starting to get angry even at himself. Because he should have known. Should have followed the instinct that Soldier was up to something. Should have convinced himself that the expression Soldier was wearing was not normal. Should have thought more on that odd smile Soldier gave him just before he left.
But no. It seems that Soldier wasn't the only idiot.
One, two, one, two, one, two--...
Soldier stopped bleeding now. Any blood that he had soaked the once pure white snow that piled around him. Medic laughed harder.
It was an absolute delight to see this much blood, and Soldier is such a stupid, stupid man.
One, two, one, two, one, two--...
He ignored the raging snowstorm, ignored the buzz in his pocket, ignored his teammates who are probably asking for their status, ignored how his chest seemed to have tightened up and made it difficult for him to breathe, ignored how his lips seemed to be spilling the words 'don't die' even when he really didn't care if Soldier did--...
Did he?
He bit his lip.
No.
No, he didn't.
One, two, one, two, one, two, one, two...
