Congrats on the 5K! As you continue this process, if there are more morning events like these, and it'd be helpful to have someone to watch V on those mornings, I'd be happy to continue helping out!

Good for you for the 5K! That's a great pace, and if you keep it up, you will find the miles coming easier, I'm sure.

I'm finding that evenings are great to run in this weather. I love going out around 8 pm and enjoying the sunsets and cooler weather. Next month...it's not going to feel so great and running has to go earlier or later. By mid-July, I cannot run once the famous Maryland humidity starts unless I do it way early or way late!

Keep it up, C, you are doing super!!

Congrats on the 5k! I'm going to have to find one in my area to try.

Did you get the marathon training plan from somewhere, or are you just making it up as you go?

I am using Hal Higdon's Novice Supreme 30-week plan (12-week 10K training plus 18-week novice marathon training, I think). The longest run is 20 miles, which concerns me a little, but I'm told that if you can run 20 you can run 26...supposedly the "wall" comes around mile 18, just have to get past that....

Take a look at www.halhigdon.com, but there are a multitude of programs out there. Couch to 5K was great for working up to 5K.

Hooray! Congratulations on your 5K. Once you're done with your marathon, sign up for a 5K...I bet you'll be shocked how much faster you'll have gotten for the shorter distances compared to your marathon :)
