What would you have done?

My car was in the shop this morning.
I had a dental appt. around noon, 1.4 miles from my office.
The shop *never* has my car ready before 2 PM.
I needed to get in a 1.5 mile run for my training program today.
The temp was 75 and it was partly cloudy.

I ran to and from the appointment, of course.  2.8 miles total.  Scored a PR for 1 of those miles (8: ( Read more... )

Ah, I remember those wonderful days, when I could walk four miles to the mall on a whim. Enjoy! Enjoy!

With the cheapest local gas at $4.10, you bet I'll walk/run when I can. Fortunately, we live close to a huge strip mall with Target and Giant and other stores, so as long as the purchases aren't more than I can reasonably carry or roll (I need to get a basket), I will try to make time to run there and walk back when I can. :)

I hope you'll get out and walk! Do what you can do. It gets easier over time if you keep doing it....

Thanks. Unfortunately, with the various injuries I've had (and plantars fasciitis hitting me last November--pain pills do help, but not to THAT extent), my days of walking for miles on end are long over.

I do get out and walk when I can. One of the very bad things about where I live now (as opposed to when I lived in Falls Church) is that I don't have a grocery store a couple of blocks away. It was extremely normal for me to walk to the store for two or three bags of groceries. The neighborhood where I live now is suburban sprawled all to hell. :-( By the time I get out of the godawful residential area, I'm long out of steam.

And don't forget crazy! ;)

I promised myself I'd pack a "go-bag" to keep at work so that the next time I do a run at lunchtime (at least when it's hotter outside) I can also take a shower.

P.S. We are late with our RSVP--we sent it today. Please know that E and I will be there!
