Just the boost I needed

Sunday was a glorious day in DC.  The weather was just perfect for a 10-mile run.

I had pretty much gotten through the nerves about the race and was just feeling excited about it.  Fate was kind and allowed  dvildogprncess to find me just before the start of the race, and we ran it together.  She helped me forget that I had 10 miles to run, and I had a great time ( Read more... )

Major congrats to you, C! It was a good day for running and I know you worked really hard to make your goal. It's amazing how much a cheering section can do for your energy level. Rest up today and give yourself a well earned pat on the back. Great job!!!

It was gorgeous...so much nicer than last year's weather. :)

I finished just a couple of minutes behind your family members--if I hadn't been so focused I *might* have recognized them, even though I've only met them once.

I'm looking forward to the 25th annual ATM next year!

My father in law has said that next year will probably be his last 10 Miler - he will be seventy, and the race has really taken a toll on his the last couple of years training wise. Last year was the first year he walked at all, and this year he was a bit slower. I think it's awesome that he's doing it at all at his age! The COL is hoping to run it with him next year...
