My friend Jenny's uncle (who lives in Venezuela) was kidnapped two days ago. The kidnappers (who are thought to be Colombian) requested a ridiculous sum of money ($250K), and if they don't get it they will kill him ( Read more... )

What is her uncle's name? I can get him on a couple of prayer lists at churches where I have connections. (Episcopal)

Unfortunately, third world countries don't generally have a lot of luck with authorities in these situations....They are doing their best to come up with the money, but it isn't looking good.
