Sophie sat beside Chris watching television and tried to suppress a sigh of annoyance that threatened to escape. Since her father had lost his money, she no longer could attend the exclusive boarding school she'd been accustomed to and now she had to stay with Gustav and attend a lesser school on scholarship. It had been bad enough when it had just been Gustav, but his brash American nephews were loud and jarring to her. Max was a sweet little boy and Chris clearly liked her; but he wasn't the sort of man Sophie dreamed of.
Two years ago, Sophie had met a man who tended to fill her thoughts and dreams, though she didn't dare admit it aloud. Just before her father lost his money, when Sophie was 15, her father took her to a fundraising ball where she met Alexander Lucard. The powerful businessman who was many years older than her had to her surprise and pleasure noticed her. He'd danced with her several times throughout the evening and had lead her outside for a bit of air.
As Alexander had lead her away from the ballroom, excitement and nervousness coursed through her. In the cool evening air, he'd kissed her, his mouth possessive as it captured hers. Sensual and powerful as man giving her the kiss, Sophie clung to him. It was her first real kiss and she'd shivered as his cool lips brushed hers. For several minutes, Alexander had kissed Sophie until she was dizzy and breathless. Then he did something which puzzled her tremendously, he pulled away from her.
Kissing her hand Alexander had told her, "One day Sophie when you are older you will belong to me, but I fear it is too early for this. When the time is right I will come to you."
At the time she was slightly disappointed, but later when Gustav told her his suspicions about Alexander Lucard, Sophie tried to feel relieved. Instead, all Sophie felt was frustration and night after night she woke her body on fire for Alexander's icy lips. Looking over at Chris, Sophie tried to imagine kissing him, but the image simply wouldn't come. Chris smiled at her with a goofy boyish smile and all she could think of was Alexander's sophistication.
Catching Sophie's gaze, Chris tried to flirt with her and a moment later loud noises from above were a welcome reprieve for Sophie. Dashing upstairs to see what Max was up to and discovering he'd climbed out the window saved Sophie from having to politely rebuff Chris. Even as she mentally thanked Max, Sophie felt annoyed having to grab vampire hunting gear and to run after him with Chris trailing behind her. Sometimes Sophie wondered if it would really be so bad to simply leave vampires to their own devices. The had existed for thousands of years and Sophie couldn't help feeling that Gustav was on a bit of a fool's mission. Vampires would never be eradicated and despite Gustav's ranting, vampires never really would take over the world because then they would have no source for food. Pushing her irritation aside, Sophie lead Chris in pursuit of Max.
"The castle! He's heading for Mr. Lucard's castle!" Sophie exclaimed as Max headed up the long driveway to the castle.
Fear and desire welled up within Sophie as she and Chris ran up to the castle. Would she see him? If she did he probably had forgotten all about her, she dismissed her thoughts and tried to focus on finding Max. Inside the castle, they found Max and he spluttered about how Gustav was a vampire and Mr. Lucard would protect them. Sophie laughed nervously and was about to try and get Max to leave when Alexander Lucard appeared in an elegant tuxedo that reminded Sophie of the night she first met him.
As Alexander informed them they would all be safe with him, Sophie hesitantly reached into her purse. She had a cross at the ready, but she didn't want to pull it out. If Alexander were indeed a vampire, she would now have irrefutable proof and part of her preferred not to know. But looking at Max, she knew she had to protect him. Swallowing nervously, Sophie pulled out the cross and her heart sank as Alexander reacted.
"Run!" she told the boys over her shoulder.
Darting her gaze back to Alexander, Sophie was unaware as one of his zombie-like drones came up behind her and grabbed her. Struggling in the zombie's grasp as her cross clattered to the floor, Sophie watched Alexander approach her. As he moved closer, she couldn't tell if he recognized her or not as he took her from his servants grasp and ushered her over to the table.
A smile played over Alexander's lips as he could hear on the other side of the castle, Chris and Max being subdued by more of his servants. In all likelihood he would let them go, children held little interest for him, they had less blood. But he was gratified they wouldn't be able to alert Gustav Helsing and interrupt his plans. For the last two years he'd been biding his time, waiting for Sophie to mature. She'd been oblivious as he'd had her followed and observed her from a distance.
Ideally Alexander should have waited for her to mature a bit more, but seeing her in his castle and being physically close to her for the first time in so long, his resolve was wavering. Moving closer to her, Alexander could sense her fear but underneath it was the unmistakable scent of desire. With a soft groan, he clicked the stereo on and tried to regain control. Even as the music filled the air, Alexander knew before the night was out, Sophie would be his.
Pulling her jacket from her shoulders, Alex suggested sibilantly in her ear, "You might as well try to relax my dear."
Sophie's breath caught and Alex could almost taste her surrender as she unwittingly leaned back against the chair and against his flat stomach. Trying to put her at ease, he asked innocently, "Do you know the music?"
"Mozart," she supplied automatically, thrown off by the odd question.
"Very good," he praised her. In an even tone he instructed her, "His mass for the dead. He died while writing it. Funny how things work out."
Unable to restrain herself, Sophie blurted out, "You're him, aren't you?"
Enjoying her discomfiture, Alex countered playfully, "Why, whatever do you mean?"
Still trying to process the full impact of her realization Sophie gasped, "You're Dracula."
With a laugh, he teased, "No, I'm Milli Vanilli."
Noting Sophie's nervousness, Alex mentally summoned a servant with a little wine. He didn't wish Sophie to become intoxicated but he wished to take the edge off her nerves. Tonight he would teach her many things and Alex wanted Sophie to enjoy every moment as he taught her.
Then in a serious tone, he confirmed, "Of course I'm Dracula."
A servant entered the room with a tray with wine and a couple glasses, after she sat it down on the table, Alex moved to the servant. Caressing her face idly, he was pleased by the flash of jealousy that crossed Sophie's face as he instructed, "Think of the advantages. Forever free to roam the night. Collecting. Officer Maria Schmidt is my latest acquisition, such a beautiful skin tone."
Moving away from his servant, Alex silently sent her a command to leave and moved back to Sophie's side, caressing her cheek he assured her, "Yours is much finer."
As Alexander, gently pulled Sophie to her feet, she protested, "Please. I don't want to be like that."
Smiling, Alexander held her tightly and rubbed his thumb over her lips as he replied, "You'll never be like that. I have enough mindless zombies to serve me, you'll be so much more, Sophie."
"Y-you know my name," she stammered nervously. On the precipice of her wildest fantasies and worst nightmares, Sophie moved between the urge to surrender and the urge to run.
"Did you think I would forget you?" Alex inquired softly. "But perhaps you have forgotten me? If that is the case, allow me to refresh your memory."
Before Sophie could respond, Alex moved his mouth over hers and captured her lips. The kiss was exactly as she remembered, fiercely intense and icy despite the heat of passion. Since he gave Sophie, her first kiss, she'd kissed others; but no man ever made her feel the way Alexander had that night or was making her feel tonight.
When he lifted his mouth, Sophie was trembling slightly as she shook her head and breathed, "I never forgot you Mr. Lucard."
"So formal, Sophie?" he drawled. Tracing the column of her throat he allowed his fang to barely nick her, eliciting a whimper from her. Kissing her again, the coppery taste of her blood flavoring the kiss, Alexander informed her, "Before tonight is out, you will call me Alex."
"Alexander, I-" Sophie trailed off. Why couldn't she run? She knew she had to but her body refused to move from his embrace. Could he be hypnotizing her? Sophie considered but dismissed the idea. Much as she wished to blame him for her body's betrayal, Sophie knew the need that was rising within her wasn't something he'd induced supernaturally, but was the same ache she felt every night for him, intensified by his presence.
As Sophie continued to mull over her feelings, Alexander enfolded her in his embrace and spun them so they disappeared from the dining hall and reappeared in his bedroom. Realizing what he'd done Sophie gasped and Alexander stood behind her.
His hands moved to the buttons of her blouse as he murmured in ear, "You've known this night was coming Sophie. Tell me this isn't what you really want."
"I-"
"Don't lie Sophie," he scolded gently. "I can smell your desire."
Embarrassed, Sophie blushed furiously and Alex, turned her around. Softly he commented, "Your blush is sweet my Sophie, but there is no need for embarrassment. I've lived a thousand years and never have wanted a woman more than I want you this night."
"You don't love me," Sophie whispered, it was meant to be a protest, but a hurt tone seemed to cling to it and rang bitterly in her ears.
"Don't I?" Alexander inquired. Then he remarked, "Perhaps not yet, but when I look at you, I know I will love you."
"You've already won, you don't need to be nice to me," Sophie chided.
Alexander laughed, his laughter filling the room as he reassured her, "Sophie, I'm not a nice man. But I am an honest vampire."
Gently pressing her onto the bed, he added, "Whatever you may think. I want you and have since the first night I saw you. For the last two years I've watched you and been biding my time. Maybe it love and maybe it's merely obsession, but either way it's powerful and I want you."
"I've never done this before, Alexander," Sophie whispered softly.
"I know, my darling Sophie. But I will show you," he assured her gently and slid her blouse from her shoulders.
Sophie gazed uncertainly into Alexander's eye as his hand unfastened her bra and freed her breasts. Her eyes went wide and then fluttered shut as his tongue circled her nipple caressing it to a stiff peak. The icy probing of his tongue made the heat between Sophie's legs, almost unbearable. Sometimes when she dreamed of him, she would caress herself to an unsatisfactory completion, her fantasies and innocent explorations had never been as intense as the feelings Alexander was eliciting from her.
Alexander watched her neck as he licked Sophie's breasts. The quickening of her pulse made the artery in her neck throb and the sight enticed him as much as her body. Raising his head he watched Sophie open her eyes and kissed her gently. Though more women had graced his bed then he could count, knew tonight would stand out from all others.
Pulling his gaze from her throat, Alexander rose from the bed and began to undress. Sophie watched him with a mixture of curiosity and desire. One time Giselle's brother's towel fell and she'd seen him naked, but the teenager bore little resemblance to Alexander's sculpted form. Feeling Sophie's eyes on him, Alexander suppressed a smile. His own garments discarded, he moved to remove Sophie's skirt and panties. As he removed them, she blushed and Alex savored the sweet innocence of her reaction.
Moving onto the bed, Alex drew Sophie close. The difference in their body temperature seemed to rouse them both and for a moment Alexander regretted that he would rob Sophie of her warmth, but brushing his tongue over his fangs, the mixture of pain and pleasure he felt was too much to ignore. Both his vampire nature and his physical male nature ached to possess Sophie, and Alexander knew neither would be denied.
Slowly, Alexander skimmed his hand over the contours of Sophie's body, before at last allowing his hand to caress her sex. The soft liquid heat of her desire almost burned like holy water on his fingers and Alexander moaned against Sophie's mouth, need raging through his body. Part of him longed to taste her, but his need was too great and he knew she would be shocked and distraught if she were vamped by him biting her womanhood.
Caressing her with his hand Alexander coaxed her closer to the edge. A feeling of triumph surged through him as he felt her heated flesh tighten around his fingers and a cry of pleasure tore from her throat. Moving on top of her, Alexander allowed himself to savor Sophie's heat on his aroused shaft. Tracing her throat with his tongue, Alexander could wait no longer. Slipping his fangs into her flesh she protested for a moment then clung to him as pleasure suffused her body.
Gently pressing his arousal into Sophie's slick heat, Alexander was relieved to her continued sounds of pleasure. It was hard for him to hold back when he ached to take her completely but he didn't wish to hurt her and hoped the pleasure of his bite would distract her from any discomfort his taking her virginity might cause. Forcing himself to withdraw his fangs as he began to thrust gently inside Sophie, Alex knew he wouldn't be able to refrain from biting her at his climax and he wanted to transform her as he completed their union.
Moving against Sophie, Alex panted softly, "Open your eyes, Sophie."
She obeyed and as she looked up at him with a worshipful expression, a feeling of tenderness washed over Alexander. Sophie's expression had such love and trust in it that his long still heart seemed to race within his chest. With a shudder he began to move faster, kissing Sophie and holding her gaze.
"Alexander," Sophie cried out, the word ending with a groan.
Moving closer to the edge, the sweet torment of pain and pleasure made Alexander tremble. Every bit of restraint he'd learned in his centuries of existence, he struggled to hold onto as he made love to Sophie. A bit of fear mingled with his pleasure, gazing into her wide green eyes, Alexander felt lost. Overwhelmed by the depth of his feeling, he wasn't ready to say he loved her. But his emotions were so intense in that moment, an eternity of composure fell away.
"Sophie," Alexander murmured. "Much more than obsession."
As he spoke she whimpered, "Love you. Love you so much Alexander!"
Burying his face in her neck, Alexander bit her neck as they both shuddered with pleasure. Sophie clung tightly and almost sobbed as the dual pleasure of Alexander's cock and fangs pulled her past the point of sanity. For a long time they trembled together until at last Alex pulled his mouth from Sophie's throat. Pulling his fang across his wrist, Alexander guided it to Sophie's mouth.
"Drink my darling Sophie," he urged her. As she drank, the pair drifted off. Tomorrow night they would rise and Alexander would show Sophie the night through his eyes. Gazing at her as she fell asleep, Alexander decided things may have moved faster than he'd planned but they were perfect.
