You know you're probably in for a good ride when a fic's disclaimer and author notes have you giggling so loud that your husband looks worried. And when the pairing involves a really long, improbable-looking set of letters...
It's set almost entirely pre-series. Purists might step away immediately because the main action here- and believe me, there is MUCH action being had- does not take place between Jim and Blair. I undertand. Yes, I really do. But it doesn't matter.
Read it to find a Blair who is young, kind, wise, tender, stubborn, open, brave, and is the very spirit of sex. Marvel over the complex choreography, written so well as to appear casual. Admire the side characters, so deftly portrayed. And swoon over three little gems tucked into the tail of the piece- a heartstoppingly beautiful vision, a cameo from now, and the last line- the very last line- which brought happy tears to my eyes.
And did I mention the extremely hot sex? You'll not find nothin' quite like this. Technically, it's PWP, I guess... but it's way more than that, in my opinion.
