Not sure what I've gotten myself into...

So.

I created a new blog today because a friend whose blog  I read regularly was suggesting that something needed to be created. And I thought, "Well, I've done a lot of reading in that vein, perhaps I could..." and, well. In 15 minutes, this was born.

There was a recent Writer's Block question about your first LJ post, and I remember thinking "Oh ( Read more... )

omg your iconnnnnnn

I clicked 'post comment' just bec of that, but about your question-- I remember reading this fluff of a book called Leave Myself Behind -- the author's name escapes me -- and liking it. Hehehe. It's one of those books I'd really rather not tell other people about, but for what it's worth....

What LGBT-related project/s are you into these days?

I heart my icon. Marco, Marco, Marco...

Anyway...
This blog thing looks like it could turn out to be far more involved than I was thinking about when I whipped it out over my lunch break.

I'm still working on the military novel, which is a long, slow process because I want to get it right. I'm also working on some short stories, pulled from all my bazillion false starts with the novel, because there were some good ideas in there that just didn't work for that particular story. But mostly I'm just writing as much as I can, at least a little bit every day.

I checked out the description of the book you suggested. It looks good to me, and the sample pages showed promise. How come you wouldn't tell other people about it? Was it porn-y? Or just poorly written?

I was like 17 when I read it and thought it was well-written. I don't remember how my ~literary sensibilities~ worked at the time, but just judging by the title (which I do a lot, heh), I'm not so sure I'd still like the writing now. I remember bits of the story/plot, though, and some of it are alright in a feel-good way, but I dont know what to feel now about the detective story subplot. will probably have to read it again. but yeah, check it out :)

I'm still very excited about your (gay) military novel. Hehe. :)
