For any issues where something is under the skin and needs to come out. Splinters, infections, mysterious eye goo, a warm wash cloth will help draw it to the surface. The longer the goo stays in the more likely it is to get infected, compound the infection or cause a scrape on the eye. So draw it out. Alternately let it dry. Back and forth until you get some relief.
