I got to the post office this morning and, as usual, there was a very long line. Anyone who's lived here longer than a week knows this is going to be the case. Anyway, I join the line and a woman comes in after me, muttering the entire time about the injustice, how all she wants to do is get her item weighed, pay for the postage and leave. It wasn't a happy, anticipating impatience. It was a "my time is valuable" impatience. Perhaps she should be looking into Good Vibrations, to relieve her obvious stress!

Don't you all just LOVE visiting the post office for fun? Lord knows it seems like some of the customers at our PO are just there to chat, since they don't finish their business and move the hell out of the way.

It's just so funny that she would immediately jump to the conclusion that the rest of us had no good reason to be there, since everyone had stuff to mail. It is true that the guy who helped me is a chatty sort, but he keeps taking customers while yakking. There would be anarchy if he didn't!

We have a PO near my work that has the self service mailing where you put your credit card in and weight the package and get the proper stamp for a package. It's really cool since I hate standing in the big line. Although there is often someone there at the machine or someone waiting on you.
