I did listen to Adder actually and I like his higher notes but I stand by my original observation that something about his voice totally freaks me out and not in the sense that it's bad just in the sense that the timbre of it or something is really too haunted for me.

I know what you mean, and that's probably one of the most appealing elements of his voice for me! Did you ever hear the song "Childcatcher"? That would definitely register as 'haunted'...
