Here's what my vintage Max Factor tin looks like, except mine has a mysterious red stain on the top, as if someone placed a glass of red wine atop of it a long time ago.

I love how delicate the packaging used to be. I love Anna Sui's make-up. I love to buy it for the containers!

I have one of those. I wonder if the red circle is from the lid of a tin of rouge? I have a few of those as well.

Could be. I absolutely LOVE vintage Max Factor tins, etc. I still have yet to take the tour of the old Max Factor building in Hollywood, which they turned into a museum a year or so ago. I've only seen the lobby, which they've painstakingly restored to it's former art deco glory. *sigh* Those were the days..

It's funny 'cos I was wondering how one becomes a makeup artist for corpses...I can imagine what an interesting job THAT would be!
