Friends and relatives always get blasted; coworkers...not at all, even when I want to go off somewhere and cry.
I always feel disgusting, but I need the money, and if I established myself as being at odds with all the mainstream bigotry, I'd get slowly bullied into quitting/having another breakdown. (I console myself a little with the idea that, if asked my opinions, I'd state them matter-of-factly and without reservation; the same goes for my sexuality. Really that's a cop-out, though.)
I don't consider it a cop-out at all! Work isn't really a place to air out your beliefs or bigotry anyway (not that that's ever stopped anyone). I can't recall a time when I felt tested at work in that way so I don't know what I'd do.
It's really nobody's business anyway. You have to get out of there!
