Part 1.
Part 2.
Regardless of the occurances of the past couple of days, having to apologize to Pansy was the worst of them. Besides the obvious, Draco hated to have to say something he didn't mean. It didn't take Crabbe and Goyle long to find Pansy, for she was still in histerics over Draco in the girls bathroom. Their problem, however, was getting the message to her. Seeing as they didn't have any Polyjuice Potion on them, and they clearly weren't girls, they found themselves at a bit of a loss. But seeing as they needed to get the message to Pansy, they sat outside the girls bathroom for the better part of a half an hour waiting to see if she would come out. When she finally did come out, she was teary eyed and a royal mess. Regardless, they told her and she came running to Draco as soon as they were finished. Seeing her in this state, Draco had half the mind to call off the whole idea. Her appearance reassured him that she was completely clingy, but all the same he pretended to say he was sorry. After which, he did his best to avoid her as much as possible.
In his latest attempt to do this, Draco sat by the lake thinking to himself. So I like Potter then? He thought. I suppose he's not half bad looking. I was always sort of jealous of his eyes....
"You need to get your girlfriend out of my bathroom," came a voice. Draco looked down towards the edge of the lake. A pair of ghostly eyes stared back at him. "Really," the ghost continued. "I was trying to relax in the U-bend when all of a sudden some sobbing girl came up and sat right on my toilet." The ghost said, now emerging from the water to the waist. She had dark hair, what exact color was hard to determine on the count of that she had no color. Her hair was pulled into loose pigtails sitting at the back of her head and bangs fell in front of her forehead, which covered bushy eyebrows and fell into glasses that didn't fit the girls face. She wore aging school robes and looked no older than twelve.
"Everyone was going in to comfort her," she said glumly, "I guess no one cares about miserable Moaning Myrtle anymore. Just because I'm dead doesn't mean that I don't have feelings." Myrtle said. Draco hadn't said anything to the girl since the beginning of her rant, now he spoke.
"What do you want?" He asked. The ghost looked a little taken aback.
"I thought I already told you." She said.
"How do you know it was my girlfriend?" he asked.
"Slytherin, dark hair, annoying type voice. About this tall?" She held her arm up ffrom the ground. Draco nodded carelessly.
"I guess that's her. Why should I care?" He looked at her. It was true, she needed to get over the fact that he wasn't always with her. Mrytle huffed indignantly.
"I suppose you wouldn't. After all, you did steal Harry from me." Her eyes started to brim with tears. Draco's eyes widened.
"Wait, what?" Draco asked. Mrytle crossed her arms.
"Oh like you don't know," she said dramatically, "I saw you kissing him in the library!" Draco looked around to see if anyone was within earshot, then glared back at her.
"I'm sorry, I don't think anyone heard you in Scotland!" Draco hissed. Myrtle rolled her eyes.
"Oh please," she said, looking up towards the sky. He started to give the girl a glare, then finally decided to give it up and start from a new position.
"All right then, I did. And your point is?"
"All I wanted to say was, you can have him." She said smiling. Now it was Draco that was taken aback. How this ghost could switch from one emotion to another faster than Pansy was beyond him. "I didn't figure that he would prefer men, and it's interesting. I haven't seen anyone actually admit it since-" She stopped then gave a sheepish grin. "Nevermind,"
With that she dove back into the lake, but popped back up once to give Draco an obvious wink before she dissapeared. Draco shrugged and leaned his head back against the tree, figuring her words unimportant. Besides, there was no need to listen to anyone more emotional than Pansy. He sighed and stood up, heading back toward the school to go to his next class.
Late at night two days later, the blonde Slytherin walked into the prefects bathroom. As usual it was deserted, as it always was when he came. When he first realized that he could come here to take a bath in privacy and silence, he took complete advantage of this and came here to bath whenever he could. But seeing as he wasn't a prefect and this bathroom clearly wasn't for him, he had to be careful as to when he came and to make sure that no one saw him.
As he had many times before, he turned all the taps on and started to fill the swimming pool sized bath with water. It didn't take long for it to fill as Draco undressed. When it was full, he slid in slowly and swam about the bubbles. Just then, he heard a noise that made him stop dead. The door swung open with a large creaking sound. Draco swam silently to the edge and peered above to see who it was. Surprisingly, it was Harry. He was in his quidditch uniform. Apparently he had just returned from a practice, because he was still slightly caked in mud. A smirk crossed Draco's face because he imagined Harry taking a dive and landing face first in the mud. Then something else crossed his mind. Harry was coming to take a bath. What was he going to do? He couldn't very well stand up and walk out, but he couldn't just sit and wait for Harry to notice Draco was there.
Harry started to undress and Draco blushed, turning away in embarassment. He had seen nothing of the Gryffindor for the past couple of days and now he was about to see quite a bit of him. Now what was he to do? He tried to think of something, but his thoughts were interrupted by the splash of Harry jumping into the water. His momentary hiding spot was washed away in the splash. It was then that he realized that Harry wouldn't wear his glasses in the bath. At that moment he was glad that he was a blonde, with all the different colored bubbles he could easily blend in.
He swam slowly toward Harry, seeing as he was blocking the steps. Harry started cleaning himself up, afterwards swimming around a bit. Then he floated on his back. Draco was almost to the steps. He turned around to look at Harry, but then saw this and nearly choked. Harry jumped at the sound.
"Who's there?" He demanded. He swam over to the steps. Draco froze, only turning his head slightly to notice that Harry's glasses were just over Draco's shoulder. As Harry drew nearer he stood, searching around for his glasses. Draco didn't say anything, merely watched Harry walk toward him. He never noticed this before, but Harry had a pretty decent body. The water was getting more and more shallow. He didn't realize it until it was too late that Harry was going to see him directly when he got his glasses. He reached just over Draco's shoulder afterwards putting the glasses on his face. The look of surprise on his face was bad enough for Draco, but even worse was when he smiled. "Oh. Hey Draco," Harry said.
Draco wasn't sure what to say. "Come to watch me take a bath have you?" Harry laughed.
"I-I mean," Draco couldn't help but notice the fact that he was still standing there. "I was here first you know." He managed. This made Harry smile even more.
"Oh, so you stayed to watch me take a bath then." He said.
"You're twisting my words around," Draco said hotly. "I came to take a bath. Now if you don't mind-" With that he pushed past Harry, doing his best to still have emphasis and not touch Harry at the same time.
He swam to the other side of the bath, doing his best to ignore the fact that he hadn't heard the sound of anyone leaving. The curiousity of the blonde overwhelmed him by the time he'd finished washing his hair. He looked over to find Harry still in the bath, washing himself as if nothing had happened just minutes before.
"What are you still doing here?" Draco snapped. Harry looked over with mild concern.
"In case you didn't notice, I would be the one that actually needed cleaning. I'm doing just that," Draco gave him a look of disbelief. "The bath is quite big enough for two people." Harry continued, "It's big enough for all the 5th years in Slytherin and Gryffindor combined. Why are you so bothered?" Draco didn't reply. Instead he only turned and continued about his business.
'Stupid Potter,' he thought to himself, 'making me feel stupid. Filthy git. I ought to just hex him and throw him out into the corridor for everyone to see.' Thinking about this revenge seemed to make Draco feel better for a moment, until he got the full image of Harry in the nude back into his mind. He dunked his head under water.
"Stop it!" He screamed to himself. After a bit he surfaced, finding himself face to face with the dark haired boy yet again.
"What are you doing over here now?" Draco demanded. Harry swam past him to get to the assorted bath shampoos, salts and things. Draco didn't realize that they were so close.
"Are you always so on edge when you take a bath, or is it just around me?" Harry asked, picking out what he intended to get.
"Do you really need to ask that question?" Draco replied. He didn't mean for it to come out the way it did, but it came out all the same. Harry turned.
"Oh really?" Harry smiled. Apparently this was the opening he needed to torture the blonde. Harry swam closer to him. "What about now?"
"Get away from me Harry," Draco warned, though all he could do was swim back.
"You know, that's the first time you've called me that." Harry said, still advancing.
"Stop trying to corner me!" Draco demanded. His only defense was the water in front of him, which he now threw at Harry.
"Then stop swimming away," Harry laughed, splashing back. Draco stopped, but still splashed at Harry.
"Then stop swimming towards me," He returned. Harry laughed and splashed back at Draco. Though he didn't realize it, a smile was starting to creep across Draco's face. As the water fight continued, the pair started to chase each other around. Splashing and laughing and having a good time. This went unnoticed by the two for quite some time because they played around like children would, without a care in the world. At last they stopped, simply tired from all the fun that they've had. Of course, by this time the bubbles have started to subside until there is only a light film covering the water. Draco draped an arm on one side next to Harry, the pair still laughed. Soon that too started to subside, until a comfortable silence hung in the air.
"I like you Draco," Harry said. Draco nodded.
"I know," he said.
"I know you like me too," Draco remained silent for a moment.
"I know," he said.
"You're going to kiss me now." Harry grinned. Draco smiled.
"I know,"
