[Mitsuru had been keeping a close watch over Ken, alternating with the others over fetching him water, just generally trying to take care of him the best she could.
It was around midnight that she had been woken from her silent vigil. Amada had been stirring, perhaps even looking a little better than he had done. Thinking that he might want something to drink, the redhead had briefly left the room to fetch him some more water.
It was only when Mitsuru returned with some that she realised something was very, very wrong. Kneeling beside the bed, she put one hand on his cold wrist. No pulse.]

[since 'waking up' again, the situation had been a bit... strange, for Minato, all things considered. dying again wasn't... something he had really wanted to experience, ut it had happened, so he would get over it. and there were more important matters to deal with right now.
Ken was very sick, after all.
Minato didn't think it would be the best thing ever if he tried talking to Ken at that moment, so he just sat off to the side in a corner that he hoped Ken wouldn't bother looking at and watched over the eleven-year-old in silence. he didn't say anything as Ken talked to whoever else was in the room, but thought it was good that he seemed to be having less difficulty. maybe he'd make it through this alright. maybe...
and then Minato watched his "little brother" close his eyes, and though he waited, they didn't open again. he shifted his gaze, watched his chest, and finally noticed that it wasn't rising anymore.]
[it took him a minute longer than it should have to pull himself up out of that corner, but when he finally did Minato immediately walked over to Ken's bedside. he reached a hand out and placed it against the boys chest for a moment before moving to where his pulse should've been beating against the skin of his neck.
but nothing happened.
he looked away, then, almost as though he didn't believe what was happening. it just seemed too cruel. all of it did. ...Ken was so young.
he slumped forward slightly then, sank down to the floor and rested his forehead against the mattress of Ken's bed. no, no, no, this wasn't right, this wasn't right at all, it wasn't--
Minato's shoulders shook slightly. he wouldn't be moving for awhile yet.]

[Aigis is returning--probably just getting off the phone with Robo? She happens to jack this thread because Minato was the only person to respond to the obligatory "I'm dead" comment. She looks around. Ken's still sleeping. But something's... wrong. Something she wonders if she wants to know. She hasn't noticed he's not breathing anymore. Just that something is very, vey wrong in this room.]
[Like the other S.E.E.S members, Akihiko had been making sure to keep a close eye on Ken. He might not have been showing it externally through any other means other than the fact he's still there, but he's tremendously worried about the boy.
He was sitting next to Ken's bed when he awoke for that last time, and he allowed a weary and relieved smile to stretch across his features. He turned to watch Mitsuru bustle out of the room to get the water.
But when he turned back, Ken had gone to sleep again.
[she has been checking up on him more and more frequently . She knew that his friends were all taking very good care of him but still... she couldn't help feel responsible, and the worried cavern in her stomach didn't vanish no matter what she did. So the moment when she came in and saw him sleeping, alarm bells went off.
He seemed quiet, too quiet. She walked, scared of what she might find, and leaned forward to see if he was breathing. Her own breath caught in her throat as she realized he was still. She reeled back... feeling tears stinging at her eyes. She couldn't save Dahlia... she couldn't save Ken. What use was she-
She just covered her face, fighting back the sobs]
