Thunder?!?!?!? Woo! ...Of course, its timing could be better. I prefer my thunder and lightning to not be at 2:50 AM ( Read more... )

Actually, it got down to 30 around here. It's always hotter in the Valley where you live, because it's the doorstop to Hell. :-p

And I did experience winters like that... in Kansas... which is one of the reasons why we moved away.

I gotta say, you can't say the weather is weird when 11 months out of 12 have clear skies and sunny days. The weirdest part about being here for me is the complete lack of weather most of the time. Every day is the same. The scenery never changes. It's like being on a hamster wheel to death. A very nice hamster wheel, but a hamster wheel nonetheless. :P

Well, the weather here is much more subtle than in the rest of the nation.

But still: heat waves in November? you can't say that's not weird. Especially when November ends up being hotter than, say, July and August.

The unusual is very much the usual in the midwest. Snow in April, for example. Or May. Highs in the 40s and then highs in the 80s in the same week.

This year, though, was just Too Hot. :)

When we lived in northern Wisconsin, every year the weather would start warming up around the end of April, and then the first or second week in May there would be one last horrendous snowstorm that would dump three or four inches of snow all over everything.

And then two days later it'd all be melted and it would be spring. Now that's weird weather. :)

The thunder wasn't loud enough to make the cat stick to the ceiling, so it doesn't qualify as really weird weather.

The weather here isn't nearly as weird as it is in New York. Seriously, the damned weather changed every fifteen minutes there. It was freaky.
