Latin was the foundation of so many languages that, truth be told, much of the world's population is speaking in one of Latin's daughter tongues. English has been influenced by it in numerous ways -- so Latin, I'm afraid, isn't quite dead yet.
((OOC: No worries <3! And forgive my butchery of the japanese language /)__-;; ))
Well, like I said; Zanpakuto are a little more than swords, but I get what you mean.
I kind of wonder what it means that one of the possible translations of Tensa Zangetsu is "Heavenly Chain Cutting The Moon", and there's a little bit of chain on the end of my sword? Oh! Yeah, and just so you know; my sword sort of appeared one day. I didn't, like, choose it, or make it or anything.
....Hey....isn't that latin quote you have from 'Faust'?

Only to those who choose not to use it.

Mine is Zangetsu "Moon's Fang", or in Bankai, it's Tensa Zangetsu "Moon's Fang Piercing Heaven"?
No idea what that's supposed to say about me, but...yeah.

I'm not familiar with the meanings behind the names of swords, so I'm afraid I wouldn't know. It's certainly an interesting name, nonetheless.

Your sword sounds quite interesting, between the name and its sudden appearence. What kind of a sword is it?
Yes, it's from Marlowe's 'Doctor Faustus'.

The truth will set you free. I am rather partial to that one.
((I think that's the right translation, idk so tired >.>))

A rather good choice, that. The Romans had quite a few things to say about the power of truth, many that I hold dear.

Oh, most certainly. 'Carpe diem', 'sic semper tyrannis', 'audaces fortuna iuvat'...the Romans have many a wise saying to their credit.
