Yeah, you know, I keep thinking his writing is very entertaining, but not that incredible... yet there turned out to be so much more character depth than I expected. It was so sad when we had to say goodbye to Belwar and Montolio! Even the relationship between Drizzt and Guenhwyvar is so powerful... Salvatore's definitely doing something right! hehe ;)
I definitely plan on reading Icewind Dale, since it seems to be one of the most popular trilogies. After that there's Legacy of the Drow and Paths of Darkness, both of which are quartets, the Hunter's Blade trilogy, and then the newest trilogy. Don't know how far I'll get in those, since I have SO many books to read... maybe one day. Have you ever read any Dragonlance? The original books by Weiss and Hickman are amazing.
So what have you been reading lately anyway? (My book nerdiness has me all curious now! :P)
Hmm, I suppose these books are worth a shot. That's a cool-ass picture.
Also we're starting a Drow-themed campaign Monday :P Despite my vague hatred of Drow, I'm willing to do it since I'll be playing A) a male, and B) a cleric of Nerull (there's no way I could even pretend to worship spiders).
I've been playing a drow in some game world or another for about 16 years now. But I haven't read Salvatore's trilogy. Maybe that's the next thing I pick up. I'm a voracious reader, but mostly only of fantasy pulp, so there's no good reason I haven't read this stuff. I think I just got turned off by Chronicles when I was a teenager that I just never tried anything else.
