when i finally saw a doc today, the nurse asked why it took me 8 days to get in to see them. i said "i thought it would go away." she said "really?" i added "and people my age don't tend to go to doctors very often." she asked my why, and i told her i was one of very few people i know who has health insurance. she looked legitimately surprised.

for some reason, i got mad, partly because she's part of the generation before mine, and she looked all "what's wrong with you kids?" about it. and it pissed me off because her generation did nothing to help this situation, and they were no different, just she didn't hear about it because it wasn't polite to speak of the uninsured in the 50s or some shit. i got pretty defensive about how we all kind of see how long we can go without insuring ourselves, like it's some sick point of pride.

anyhow, sorry you've got to deal with all that. sucks to be sick.

yeah that shit has me seriously pissed off. i drove someone out of my home this morning because i was yelling about it. (really i only yelled one of the words and it was "fuck" but i guess it was scary.)

i've been blaming a lot of people for this. okay, EVERYONE. everyone who has put up with this bullshit thus far. everyone who ever bought into any candidates platform on health-care during a campaign to buy into this fucking kakistocracy we're running here. everyone who bends over and takes it in the ass in silence just glad that they're not getting it in the mouth too like the rest (me.)

and anyone that wants to pipe up with any of that horseshit about the evils of socialized medicine and waiting in long lines for care and all that red-scare mccarthist ratshit can suck my motherfucking dick and be first against the wall on charges of collaboration in crimes against humanity.

bush wants $82B more for iraq and my tonsils look like fucking falluja.

While I agree with generally everything you said, I tend to believe people in this country suck the cock of their insurance companies dry for no apparent reason and it bleeds the rest of us the life giving juices those cocks could provide that most of us really need.

I haven't been to a doctor since I had my heart attack, I can't afford it. Yet every girl I know with health insurance goes to the doctor every time she's afraid maybe the dirty penises she's been inserting into her gave her an infection in her urinary tract.

And in case most of you people haven't noticed, general practitioners are good for little else than prescribing penicillin for your VD's.

Yes, a lot of companies ask you pay for your health coverage. And yes, I've paid a zillion times. But I refuse to use it until I'm on my death bed, because those copays are so high because people go to the doctor for the most ridiculous of reasons.

hah! well, comparitively i have nothing to complain about. i just went to the urgent care joint up the street and had them shoot me in the ass with some antibiotics. oh the look of horror on the chicks face when i told her i was paying with CASH. $85 bucks later i can barely feel below my waist. i was expecting worse; maybe that's the sickest part ( ... )

Honestly, it would probably have to be 100 people doing it (but not all at once.. that's just mass hysteria, not a sadistic, cash-driven system at fault) for them to even care. Even then, it would be lip service for months, a few poorly worded reactionary laws to stop the high-profile deaths from happening, and nothing done to fix the problem at its source. Just like school shootings.

That IS bullshit. I get pissed off every time i hear some fucking idiot refer to things such as universal coverage as socialist, or say the country can't afford it.

People don't have healthcare because others choose not to provide it. that's it. And it's fucking bullshit.

I'm lucky to have coverage, i guess. I don't know what i'd do without it.

I got a bill, earlier this week, for my hospital visit when i found out i was diabetic. $5k for 3 days. And i left with an incorrect diagnosis.
