Good! That's the idea I wanted to capture. They're both (or rather, all three) a mess right now, but they just need time to grieve and heal.

Excellent! I read the summary and expected the worst, and I was incredibly relieved when I finished the fic. :D It's so painful, but it both hurts you and heals you as you read.
As always, I'm specially fond of the bits in the parentheses and the dialogue in italics. It makes the style more stream-of-consciousness, but without forcing it. I don't know if I'm making any sense.
Though I'm wondering why did Dumbledore let them have Harry so easily, heh. Well.
PS. I'm adding this little series to my AU R/S rec list, if you don't mind. :]

I'm glad my parentheses don't seem forced. I had worried about that. :)
Though I'm wondering why did Dumbledore let them have Harry so easily, heh. I think he saw the courage of Sirius' action, and decided it was better to stay on Sirius and Remus' side than have to fight them every step. He is making a great concession to let a werewolf and a boy who's never going to grow up raise little Harry, but he'll make sure to be a huge hand in Harry's childhood. Have I answered your question?
I just ran into your AU rec list the day before yesterday, and I'm honored to be recced! It's a great list!

I'm really pleased that the italicized dialogue (and ridiculous amounts of parentheses) seem to be working for everyone. I have a hard time balancing between telling and showing a story, so italicized dialogue right in the middle of paragraphs was my compromise. *nods*
