That is pretty much why I don't go to the doctor. I always get that "in order to lead a healthy life, you need to lose some weight" and "you really need to quit smoking".
Yeah,I get being fat and smoking is bad. I know how to read. Not a fan of the Captain obvious routine they like to pull. Unless they have a miracle pill and a vibrating turkey blade with alot of gauze and morphine, the doctor's visit is normally kinda worthless unless something else is going on.
Yeah, I though it was something else, I never had such pains and I'm basically happy it's all *just* fat. I need the obvious fest wake up call every now and then! :D
i am a big proponent of realistic lifestyle changes....ones you can keep. that sort of thing. in the past couple years i've slowly trimmed off weight, and it stays off, but i have to be vigilant. i see my older sister, and my mother both having health issues due to it, i see what my potential is...and what things can happen so i've got to be careful. i should someday have some routine checks like cholesterol etc. my mother has notoriously high cholesterol...she's a walking time bomb. sorry to hear about it. its crappy V!
Oh don't worry... As I said, I was a bit worried it was something serious. It's a *bless* that it's still possible to make it better just by losing weight. Damn, I'm 35 I would've hated to start taking medications to keep everything under control. I've been so lazy lately, I even got some of the weight I lost before the summer back, I knew it wasn't good! I shall start being a little more careful and healthy. :D Less cheese, more vegetables! Damn! XD
Well, at least it's nothing more serious than "fat", if there's something positive about this. Good luck with your diet. I know it can be tough, having watched J. diet pretty much the whole time I've known him.
I know it's hard work, oh boy I do! I've had to change my eating habits to help J. with keeping up his diet, and I know it's super hard to give up stuff you're used to. I also know that the rewards for keeping it up and losing weight are more than worth the bother of a diet. And at least you don't live with some one who's trying to gain weight! We sometimes need to have two foods to stick to both our diets and I hide my candy so J. won't be tempted by it. XD
Have you tried a low carb diet? J's on it now and it seems to be working great! It's tough getting used to, but once you do, it's pretty simple & easy to keep up.
I've been on a good personalized diet years ago, it worked... it was 1993, then christmas came and I never got back to my dietician (which happened to be also my doctor). Since then I've been up and down but I never followed any specific diet. I'll just need to change my eating bad habits! :D
