Back in Londontown...

Gahhh I'm back!! And thanks to Ros who has been incredibly sweet and patient and kind my first day was not nearly so stressful or awful as I thought it would be. She helped me move all my crap out of storage yesterday and then we went to watch the new Dorian Gray movie.

....and yeah. The new Dorian Gray should probably be avoided by Oscar Wilde ( Read more... )

Hahahaa yes, yes it does. I couldn't tell at first whether it was atmospheric-creepy-noise-effects or growling, but as the movie went on it became clearer that it growls. XD

And eh. I'd suggest downloading it or something - it's not really worth buying a cinema ticket for it, or a DVD for that matter. But if you're anything like me than curiosity outweighs any apprehensions I may have and I *must* see the adaption, even if it sounds like it'd be awful.

I wish someone *would* make an awesome Dorian movie. It is desperately needed, I think. (-_-)

And hahaha!! Too true. Alas. As it stands I have very limited book shalf sapce and this will not really change for another year. <.

Ben Barnes is pretty, but as you say - not really pretty enough, or at least, not the right kind of pretty. Also Colin Firth's Henry Wotton was major LOSE. >< I thought Firth would be too sweet to play Wotton but actually the opposite is true. He makes it seem like Henry *actually* takes everything he says very seriously and he's so horribly sinister and awful. It's just wrong. >< Though he does have random brilliant one-liners. "Dorian, you look like a slapped Nancy. What's the matter with you?"

Hahaha! I think that's eventually what I'd begun doing last year but this year I have decidedly smaller floor space. <.

WHAT?

I had totally forgotten about this. Brainblock much?

WHAT. OH MY GOD.

*forgets suddenly her rage at remake of Brideshead and the adaptation of Alice in order to be impotently furious at something else*

This is why it's probably a good thing that it doesn't seem to have a US release at the moment. You would absolutely absolutely hate it. Seriously. <.<

ohhhhh I would wouldn't I

*makes a sadface*

I kind of want it like I want the Brideshead remake, just for the frothing rage it would provoke and how delightful it would be to attack it. But with Brideshead, it can be compared to the awesome miniseries, see, and there is nothing championing Dorian.

Yeah....which is a really sad state of affairs. A part of me says I should try watching the 70's version with Helmut Berger, but it looks like it might be awful and it may make me stop loving Berger which would be too tragic. So I think I shall just stay clear of it. XD

thank you for the warning... i was going to steer clear of it anyway, but now I'm not just being a jerk, but an *informed* jerk!
When will they learn?

Also... when will they make an animated film?

They will *never* learn. I think most movie-people must be made up of idiots who think they can do better than the original writers. Grrr.

And my god yes!! An animated film would be heavenly. So Mr. Gullo, do you think you'd ever take up the project if you had the time and the funding?
