Just a very quick post since despite being only just gone ten I want to get to bed soon...

Yesterday I did a tour of various places and today similar...

( Great wall, Ming Tombs, Tiananmen square and the Summer Palace (and prob other stuff) )

Lots of sights. I like the sound of the slow rollercoasters.

Glad it is being fun... there'll be a lot of it.
There is clearly some standard "Learn English!" book that has
"Fine, and you?" as the standard response for "How are you?" but without any explanation of the meaning or punctuation.

Sounds like you're starting to get the hang of things! V impressed at picking up a guide for the summer palace - we just wandered around and read the bits in the guidebook (for Forbidden City also). I hope your calves are ok from the walk on the wall! We also had loads of haze at this time last year which meant not much in the way of views from the wall and it seems that that is a feature of Beijing and surroundings but when the haze cleared it was incredibly hot and we wussed out of things so actually good as well as bad!

I am so jealous of you going to see the terracotta warriors!
