Editor's note: This post was originally written on Saturday evening. It is not up to date on where I am now or even where I was when I wrote it. I'll hopefully be writing more later, even if its a brief filler....

The thing I remember reading about the emperor's tomb was that it really hadn't had much by way of excavation at all since they couldn't be sure of excavating it without damaging it but the stories of it describe rivers of mercury and a roof like a stary night sky. Although they've not verrified it yet I did read that the area around the main tomb did have an unusually high level of mercury in it...

Also mmmmmmm dumplings. When you get back you'll have to try and recreate these tasty delicacies for those of us left at home!

Yeah, I didnt see the tomb itself since I am told there is nota lot t see there on account of having notdug much of it up) but your stories do match with what I've heard. He wanted all the rivers of china in his tomb and water was bad for some reason so they used mercury....

Random statue in the plaza type bit outside the Large Wild goose pagoda place... It was kind of cool so I took a photo. :) So many ofmy phhotos are just random stuff I saw. :)
