Mountain crits venusintransit for 1000000 damage.

Today has not been a good day. I have learned many things though including:

1) Mountains are big
2) Don't trust the hostel workers to know about things
3) Carrying people up mountains looks like really hard work
4) Carrying people up mountains earns a good wage
5) Mountains are actually quite dull.

A bad day on a mountainside )

As mistakes go, one that only costs 90 quid and ends up with seeing monkeys and views is hopefully not going to linger in the bad pile too long.

Enjoy the cable car tomorrow...

90 quid sounds like a bargain to me, in the circs. I would happily pay more than that to avoid climbing a big mountain, and I wouldn't even get to see monkeys that way.

And someone's got to keep the carrying dudes in work, they've probably got families to support and all.

I should have warned you about the steps - all of the chinese mountains are like that (remember the picture of me dripping and unpleasant at the top of Huang Shan for the same reason?)

Like Ru said, it wasn't horrendous, you're not broke, and hey, there were monkies. Could have been worse

*hugs*

Oh, and in home news, the gas and the electricity bill also arrived!

*hugs* When you get home, try a small mountain at a reasonable temperature and I'm sure you'll win. These things take practise.
