Remember how we all knew this was gonna happen when they changed their name to "SyFy"? ::sigh::

In angry ire, I told them they were trying to be Spike 2.0 when I sent my feedback.

In fact, here's the whole damn thing. Don't piss me. I've got anger issues, Marion. I included my my letter to the the post under the cut. It's not a happy letter. I'm righteously pissed.

I am telling you, that damn name change was the death knell, right there.

No, the knell was putting Bonnie Hammer in charge. And then being stupid enough to change the name in an effort to follow the comics industry's "Why We Suck" guidelines.

Eureka has been treated like shit by SyFy. It had so much potential and could have been the cornerstone show of the network. Instead, it gets shoddy scheduling that has put nearly a year between the two halves of a season, with a one-off Xmas episode about six months ago. Very few shows can make good under such circumstances.

I knew that channel would go to shit when it changed its name. I don't know why the name wasn't just changed completely, since they don't show much of anything 'sci-fi' anymore. It's a huge joke, and it has been on all of us for supporting them. Once Sanctuary and Warehouse 13 are over, I'm so fucking done with anything to do with that channel.

I think the network seems to view consumers as rights, not rewards. I do not reward shitstains for brains, ya know? I figure by the time Eureka is done, Haven and WH13 will be canceled as well. I mean, it's SyFy after all. Can't let the nerds taint their precious world. Never you mind that without nerds and geeks, they wouldn't have a production staff.

I've been referring to Eureka as having a lot of mini seasons, and I think that's right. They don't have long ones, just short, almost UK-like. And the fact they waited until like a few weeks before production ends to announce this? Bullshit. And I have no brand loyalty to them. I stuck around for my shows but I can't depend on the station to keep them on.

I knew the channel wouldn't survive as was when that guy said it was aimed for men. Essentially, it's a Spike 2.0 - a channel that caters mostly to the perceived male demographic.

SyFy has just... completely gone down the crapper. I can't even get into the shows now and what shows they have... eh. You're right about there being a plethora of shows the channel could choose from if they wanted to beef up, oh, I dunno, actually being 'SCIFI'?!

I still haven't sat down and watched Eureka or Warehouse all the way through, but I like what I see. I miss Stargate though and they should really make a 'reality' tv night so they can have more shows.

So, they're cancelling Eureka? My folks aren't going to like this. *just read the comments* Dammit SYFY!

Well, you know SyFy has to rebrand and include those none geeks. I mean, really, we totally need Spike 2.0! They're actively courting the males and doing it so stupidly. I don't care about their stupid ass reality shows because I've lived with ghosts; they aren't stage performers with a great breakout moment ( ... )
