From a human protection standpoint that's not a bad way to bathe a cat if you have to. But the poor thing... it was just trying to escape the whole time. I was laughing and sad all at the same time.
Although it appears cruel, in all honesty, it's probably the safest and fastest way to bathe a cat, especially if it has claws. I only bathe my cats if they really need it and they hate it and it's always a struggle. If I could stick my cat in a machine for two minutes instead of a ten minute struggle in the bathtub, I'd do it because although both are traumatic, the machine is traumatic for much less of a length of time.
That being said, I find it hard to believe that machine is actually safe...between the confined space and the amount of water, I would think there would be some danger for the animal in there.

Bill got trapped out on my deck in the rain once. He looked pretty much like that, jumping as high as he could and hurling himself at the door.
