My fucking mother is so thick it's unreal. What part of "I can't see the picture on the screen because the damned strip light is reflecting off it" is so hard to understand i have to say it 6 times and then scream it at her before she shuts up?

I don't care whether she can see the picture, I can't! What part of this is so fucking hard to ( Read more... )

At least someone found it funny. :p

*grumbles loudly at mother, who is now deliberately watching Lost Ep. 1 Pt. 2 as loud as possible on the kitchen telly*

BLAH.

Oh yeah, you owe me some photos. :p

Erm, if Sir, I may be as bold as to say that Mother is, errm, not being deliberately obtuse, but may genuinely, not understand, your absolute frustration.

**Bows off in deliberate bows of subservienvce**

In hoping to see the great Lord at the weekend at some point. xx

She does it all the time. This has happened at least 6 times today about different things. No matter how many times I try to explain things to her, she just doesn't seem to be able to grap the fact that some people don't think like she does.

Meh.

Roll over! *cracks cat o' nine* :p

With regards light reflection, is it not more an issue of where one stands and one's height etc?

Presumably you shouldn't have posted in Committee forum as you're not Committee and that's an abuse of your powers? And I will also presume that the bitching about the thread being in the wrong place was instead of actually answering your issue?

No, it's a case of not being able to discern the light from the image on the screen. Most people can concentrate on one or the other, I can't I see both at the same time... It's annoying.

Maybe I shouldn't have, but as I said, I couldn't think of another way to contact them quickly until it was pointed out I should have emailed.

And yes, it was. And that pissed me off even more.

Now, that's not exactly true is it? The first response did indeed answer your question and made no mention of the fact you'd posted in the committee forum.

I think what the end of your post is saying is "People should understand I have lower intelligence than them and thus not expect anything better of me" - is that what you're trying to say?

No, Casp, that's not what I'm saying at all. I'm trying to say that people should try to get it into their heads that not everyone thinks in the same way, and can do the same thing, eg, tell one image from another superimposed onto a television screen, concentrate on one voice/conversation in a crowded room. If you think that what I'm saying means that said people affected have a lower intelligence, then Einstein was thick.
