Think about it dear... 90 minutes and 90 seconds... 90:90. What's wrong with this time? :p In fact, you can put it on for 1 hour 90 minutes and 90 seconds. 1:90:90... That's jsut wrong.

I think when you put something on at the wrong time (like 30 mins hour etc) I think it causes the microwave to explode.

Maybe it's because some recipes ask for 90 minutes/hours, and manufacturers assume there a too many stupid people out there who can't break that down.
