Quick rec: Cocktail Time

I just opened the doors to the feast that is hp_friendship, and my God, what a feast! I have only had the chance to read -- devour, more like -- one story as of yet, but cannot wait to sink my teeth into the rest, so delicious do the summaries sound.

Before I do that, however (admittedly, not till tomorrow permits), I simply have to point you to Cocktail Time

I will check it out. Honestly I would never have given that pairing more than a passing glance without a rec. But I just read the Moody/Vance story and that was surprisingly good tho very bittersweet when you look at it in canon context (plus I always adore well done canon gap fics).

Oh, I think you will enjoy it, if you haven't already! I never much liked Rita in canon, but the OLSB -- and exceptional stories like this one -- changed my mind. And Lockhardt is a scream. They aren't together, fortunately, but what comes out of their brief friendship is shocking.

Haven't yet had a chance to read the Moody-Vance story, so thank you for the head's up! That one's next on my list.

It was absolutely brilliant. I loved Rita (and that takes some doing) and wrong as Lockhart was he was such a fascinating character. I loved how the author kept everything totally canon and in character yet made such compelling characters.

And do read the Moody one. It is not fun like this but its a lovely canon gap too (it is friendship not pairing)
