moddish things, questions

Apparently I am Albus Dumbledore; this probably should serve as some kind of warning, but I am mostly very amused.

I haven't heard back from eleven people about deeply_horrible since they signed up for the fest or asked for an extension in October, which I am told is perfectly normal, but makes me wonder whether my e-mails are landing in spam folders or not ( Read more... )

My dear, as I was telling enname I'm just two fics behind (yeeh!) and the last one I read was a pure jewel (The Toil of the Just), one of the best of the fest and one of the best SS/HG I've read in recent times. With an ending on December 27, we'd still have more than a month plenty of deeply-horrible fics and fanarts, just in time to catch up during the holidays. You've been a wonderful mod (I've already told you ;), so don't worry about feedback. Many people are just a little confused among this profusion of fics from so many fests.

**hugs**

Oh my dear, you are much too good. I'm glad you enjoyed "Toil"!

You're right that I should worry less; I think I may be projecting my own troubles onto the fest.

*hugs tightly*

Oh my dear Jules, please don't feel at all addressed by the post. You've been absolutely amazing about commenting, but more than that, there is no need to feel as though you must read and comment. I am just a worry-wort, is all, and am upset with myself for not managing to run the fest at an earlier time of year, when many of these problems could have been avoided.

Glad you like the idea of a feedback challenge! I will think about this a bit more, and then make an announcement. And please, do not feel as though I expect anything in terms of contributions! The last thing I want is to turn something that should be fun into a stressful obligation. <3

I got Dumbledore too. (: Dumbledorians unite? Heh. (First I got Dobby, but I was in a very peculiar mood when I took it the first time; I waited until later to take it again, not having it in mind to specifically change my answers--which didn't change much--and got Dumbledore.)

That's quite frustrating, about deeply_horrible! I've never run a fest myself, so I don't know personally, but I've heard similar things. I hope at least some of them get back to you soon and miraculously have fic to give.

Do you have any friends who do graphical art? I think generally, once one creates the background for the set of banners/badges, the rest (putting on the different names) isn't too difficult. My friend can whip them out within a minute once the background is done--and that usually doesn't take more than one sitting. Good luck with it! It's a great idea, getting the rec'ers involved like that. I love fests that reward commenters, so this takes it a step beyond even that!

Dumbledorians unite indeed! This is most intriguing and amusing.

Thank you for your encouragement re: the feedback challenge! I suppose I could use the banner images we already have and add in text myself ... will have to think about this. Time is a problem. But I am heartened to hear that it can be easy to create these things! ♥

My dearest, please do not worry about keeping up with DH. If you are ever in the mood for an entry, but aren't sure where to start, I can point you to fic/art I think you'd like. But there is absolutely no requirement or pressure to do so, and I won't be disappointed or upset. I understand the need to cut screen reading time and to prioritise!

We had a few people who fell completely silent on us at hp_friendship even though they were merrily active on their own journals

THIS. It's why I think that spam filters must be involved, because such behaviour makes no sense to me otherwise. Er, unless, well right.

You are far too good, my dear!

Hah! I got Minerva, which is hilarious. Don't you go twinkling at me, young lady. :P

I am behind, as usual on my commenting and reading (as in in a completely unsurprising turn of events, I was just telling cabepfir), but certainly I am making an effort to comment on those that have either a lower comment count, or at least on every one of them. Admittedly, I think I am beginning to fall into my marking commenting style (Although without the constructive criticism!) and keep putting it off because of this. No one wants to feel like they are being graded. Plus you always manage to say what I want to in your comments and so, because I am an idiot and don't want to repeat, I have to go off and create different things to say. I totally over think commenting, it is true ( ... )

MINERVA! This test is amazing. Minerva really does work. Who is her polar opposite? (Dumbledore's is, of all people, Cissy Malfoy ( ... )

Really? Cissy Malfoy? I would not have picked that. Perhaps Mrs Weasley would be more of an absolute opposite for Dumbledore. For Minerva it is Peter Pettigrew! Yerk ( ... )
