The road to domestication is paved with mishaps.

I should make it a rule to never bake or cook in the morning. Bad things may happen, like my using the 1/2 tablespoon measurement when the recipe calls for 1/2 teaspoon. Oh well. My spinach casserole will just be a little salty and peppery, is all.

That is the reason I cook slowly, unless I have the recipe memorized. (:

You should try this one: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Spinach-and-Mushroom-Casserole/Detail.aspx

My cooking mishaps don't come from mis-measuring; instead they come from getting home from the store and then deciding what to make. Which is why I make pizza with bolognese sauce and homemade mac n' cheese with sun-dried tomato and parmesan cheese sauce. Because I didn't have flour but I had bread mix of the tomato/parmesan variety.

I call it being "adventurous". ;)
